Despite its glowing reputation, Ford still have a lot of work to do in order to keep in contention with its rivals; the closest of which is the Volkswagen Caddy. This generation of the Transit Connect doesn’t just pick up where the outgoing model left off, it has managed to raise the bar again. It’s as good looking as it has ever been, the quality of the cabin has improved and is even more comfortable, and driving the Transit Connect has never been easier. The handling and steering remain assured and sharp, while the ride-quality does well to cover up any bumps on the road. The peppy engines provide enough “oomph” to increase the enjoyment when driving. In terms of practicality, it’s a tough car to beat. The sliding door comes as standard on both long and short wheelbases and can fit two euro-pallets in the back. Depending on the wheelbase you choose; it can hold between 2.9 and 3.6 cubic metres, even with a full bulkhead built in.
